History of my Australian Birds List
In 2006 I started to pick up photography. I always enjoy nature, wildlife naturally become the subject of my photography. I enjoy bird photography, as it give me a chance to spend time in nature, far away from the distraction of city life.
This page is a work in progress. My plan is to photograph as many Australian Birds as I could. I will update my Australian Bird List whenever I managed to capture some good images of a species.
This Australian bird list is based on “Systematics and Taxonomy of Australian Birds” by Christidis & Boles. There are 872 species of birds listed in Australia, my count is increasing slowly.
27 December 2011, added thumbnails to all Australian birds on this page. Hopefully this will help those who use this page as a guide to identify common Australian Birds. Please leave me a message if you find any mistake in my identification. I found this forum a great resource for identifying birds http://www.birdforum.net/
Google for “Australian Bird” my Australian Bird page came out on page 3 on 28/12/2011. Maybe one day will get it to page 1.

Hello Chenghiang! Beautiful Kestrel and other birds. Keep counting!
I say the same as PhotoAnonymous 🙂
PS: I find it difficult to see the layout of your page with the center column cutting off the information and images on the right hand side…
Great pictures, I like that honeyeater
Thanks guys.
BirdAnonymous,
I am not sure why you have difficulty seeing the page, I use firefox… and seems to work ok. Any suggestion what could be wrong?
Sorry … I use Explorer7 which might be why. The Bulbul and first Kestrel image are under the third column (snap shows me they are there) along with writing…
